CBEI presentation for JAMPRO’s four-year Strategic Business Plan
The Jamaica Promotions Corporation (JAMPRO) invited the CBEI to make a presentation on March 12, 2019.
This governmental organization promotes business opportunities through the provision of investment and growth opportunities to local stakeholders. They also act as the key policy advisors to the government in matters of identifying and improving the business community of the country.
The presentation was necessary for an initiative that’s part of a series that initiated the identification of emerging business industries, all in preparation for JAMPRO’s four-year Strategic Business Plan.
The Executive Director of the Centre, Ambassador Schmillen delivered an informative presentation on the Blue Economy to the staff both locally and regionally. He shared knowledge on all aspects of the Blue Economy on a current global and inched in on the local perspective, the activities and new emergence in this industry, the applications to the corporation’s initiatives and ended with an engaging question and answer segment.
Discussions are now being had to identify and support marine industries that fit the mandate of the Corporation. Following the session great interests unfolded, popular among them being aquaculture and mangrove restoration.
